Promote YOUR Expertise

It's not a new marketing technique, but since the advent of the Internet it's certainly become more common…  using books, articles and white paper to establish credibility and draw attention.

It works a treat for a large cross-section of businesses!  Demonstrate your expertise and share your knowledge  generously, and who do you think people will come to when they need the service you offer?  The author of that interesting book or paper they enjoyed reading, of course!

You might produce a hard cover or paperback book to take up shelf space in the local bookstore.  Publishing can be costly, and it isn't easy to market an unknown author effectively - though if the quality is good and the topic is right for today's market, you may well find an agent or reputable publisher to assume all the risks for you.

An easier route is to produce an e-book:  a downloadable file that readers can read on screen or print.  Production is cheap and low risk.  There is no stock to hold.  There are tons of internet stores hungry for e-book titles to sell, and of course you'll promote the book on your own web site.  We'd love to promote it on this site as well!

You might give the book away, and authorise others to gift it as well.  That's an amazing way to promote yourself!  And it's so easy!

But How would I Create My Book?

Most business operators have specialised knowledge of their field.  That's their primary stock-in-trade!  That's what positions them to deliver a service of value to their customers.

Yes, even retailers have specialised knowledge.  Consider the health foods seller.  He knows about healthy foods, and the benefits of herbal mixtures and mineral supplements.  He can tell you which products are most likely to address your symptoms effectively.

What about the bookstore owner?  Chances are he knows all the latest titles and the styles of the popular authors.  He probably can recommend the best gardening or home renovation or business-building guide.

Service business operators are more likely to trade almost exclusively on their expertise.  The I.T. guy has a wealth ofknowledge about how to keep your computer running without glitches, and how to set up networks and communications systems.   The accountant knows all about how to save tax.  Lawyers know what should and shouldn't be in business contracts.

So what specialist knowledge do you have, and how do you convey it?

Getting your name out there as an author establishes a level of credibility that builds customer confidence, and increases your exposure dramatically.  Whether you sell the book, or give it away, it pays you handsomely by building recognition.

"But  I'm not a writer.  And in any case, I don't have time!"

Did you know that more than half the non-fiction books in circulation weren’t actually written by the author whose name is on the cover?  They are 'ghostwritten':  written by professional writers using your knowledge and expertise and mimicking your personality and style.  And you claim authorship and own the copyright.  Several of the titles in the NFIB e-book store were ghostwritten!

A 'ghostwriter' picks your bra in, and writes your book for you, under your name.  You claim all the credit.  Payment can be via a fixed fee, or a share of proceeds (if the book is to be sold).

NFIB are uniquely positioned to offer expert ghostwriting services by talented writers, knowledgeable and capable of writing about a wide range of subjects.

We can also offer expert page design, publishing and electronic publishing services. And our prices will be a pleasant surprise!

If you've ever thought you'd like to see your name on the cover of a book, contact us now for more information.
