| Our Major Current Initiatives |
- NFIB is currently lobbying for major reform of the Retail Shop Leases legislation. If you operate a shop and rent premises, particularly in a major shopping centre, contact your NFIB Customer Care representative for more information on this project and to learn how you can support NFIB's efforts to ensure fair dealing.
|
- NFIB has detected an error in the way one of Australia's major shopping centre managers is calculating outgoings. Thousands of retailers across 150 centres operated by a major management company are paying too much and are entitled to significant refunds. Retailers are urged to contact NFIB for more information.
|
- NFIB is concerned about disclosure of information by franchisors when selling franchises. While we recognise that many franchisors are honest and fair, there appear to be many instances of franchisors not providing truthful information or withholding critical data from prospective franchisees.
Before you consider buying a franchise, contact NFIB for information.
Members with any relevant knowledge are urged to contribute to discussions on this important subject to ensure that reforms offer adequate protection for franchisees. | |
