NFIB Australia services Australian independent business operators.

Member Benefits

Anyone involved in operating, managing, or supporting an independent business operation is welcome to apply for membership.

To join NFIB, you need a valid Australian or Australian State ABN, CTS, business registration number, or organisation registration number. Special Membership Types

  • Sponsor Membership
    If you support independent business operators, but don't qualify for membership, you can join as a sponsor member.

    If you are thinking of buying or starting a business,  or are an investor or trader not registered as a business, you can join as an associate.

Group Membership
Operators of multiple businesses, Franchise operators, distribution chains, etc. 

Group membership provides more economical access to member benefits for all of your franchisees, distributors, managers, etc. 

Member benefits are available to the group head, and to any member of the group who signs on as an enrolled group member.

Note: 
Group membership is not available to clubs and industry associations.  Clubs and associations should apply for associate membership.          

 

We welcome applications for membership from:

  • Sole traders
  • Partners in business
  • Directors and managers of companies (public or private)
  • Trustees of self-managed superannuation funds
  • Trustees of Trusts operating businesses
  • Committees or administrators of bodies corporate
  • Property investors and share traders (with business registration) 
  We especially welcome:
  • Home business operators
  • Franchisees
  • Franchisors
  • Tradespeople

We welcome applications for associate membership from:

  • Property investors and share traders (without business registration)
  • Representatives of Government Agencies assisting business
  • Politicians and Councillors
  • Owners of leased commercial properties
  • Venture capitalists and angel investors
  • Media personnel reporting on business issues

Associate members enjoy limited access to member benefits.

 

 We welcome applications for sponsor membership from:

  • Clubs or associations working to support independent business
  • Representatives of Government Agencies servicing, assisting, or regulating business operators
  • Politicians and Councillors
  • Owners of leased commercial properties
  • Venture capitalists and angel investors
  • Large Corporations providing business services (for example, banks, credit unions)
  • Business service providers (e.g. recruitment firms, accountants, legal professionals, information technology firms, etc)
  • Employer and industry associations
  • Media outlets and web site operators reporting or commenting on business news and issues

Sponsor members receive free advertising and promotion on the NFIB website and in newsletters, free listing in our business directory, and business referrals and recommendations. 

Sponsor members are encouraged to provide content for our website and newsletters, and to offer member discounts and special benefits for NFIB members. 

Discounts and remissions will be offered on membership fees in return for your support by providing content and offering special benefits to members.

Base fee applies.  Each group member can then opt to join at the per enrolled group member rate.

      Groups with 11 - 25 members  $1000  $ 850
      Groups with 26-50 members  $1500  $1000
      Groups with 51-100 members  $3000  $2500
      Groups 101-200 members  $5000  $4000
      Groups with more than 200 members  $7500  $6000

      Per enrolled Group member

  $  50    $  30

 

Pro rata adjustments will be made when transferring from one member type to another.

Special concessions and discounts may apply in particular circumstances.  Concessions will apply at the discretion of the Secretary.
